Driving in the UAE, strange but true...

A friend of mine was running in her new car during a drive from Abu Dahbi to Dubai, so she was doing about 110kmph, even though the speed limit was 120kmph. A police car came up behind her, lights flashing, and pulled her over. She was really panicking, worried that she had broken some laws and had the wrong drivers license…but the policeman just wanted to ask why she was driving so slowly, was everything OK?
But wait, there’s more…
Darrell was driving back from Liwa, doing 170kmph, again in a 120kmph zone, when he came up behind a police car. It was single lane, approaching a blind rise, no chance for overtaking, so he resigned himself to losing his speed - until the police car moved into the hard shoulder so that Darrell could overtake. Just a wave, enjoy your drive….
Personally...
I'm a rather slow driver, so I tend not to go over 100kmph in a 60kmph zone. This means that I am constantly having trucks flash their lights at me to let them past...
