Cats again....

I think everyone knows how much I love cats? The good news is that Tabitha has decided she doesn't actually love us after all and has left home again. Sparkly is healthy (recovered from some street fighting) and spends his life on David's bed. All is stable in my cat world - which means that I don't bother them and they don't bother me.

So this morning, fate steps in. Arrive at the school parking lot and have to park miles away (car park very overcrowded) on a sand area. I unload the kids and and a mountain of bags and start walking towards the gate - and Alex, David and Steph all start pointing at a tiny kitten sitting on a grate. It is all alone, there is no-one else around except for a large 4x4 about to park roughly on the kitten's spot.

So we picked him up. I carried him wrapped up in David's hat, he seemed very happy to be there and snuggled down. I kissed the kids goodbye (well, I kissed Steph and high-fived the boys), told them I'd take the kitten along to the vet and then went to the school reception to

a. ask for a box to carry the thing and
b. ask them to put up a notice saying we'd found it.

After chatting a bit to the receptionists, kitten (in photocopy paper box) and I left the school building and as we were walking around the outside, I thought I heard a little voice calling 'Mommy!'. I turned around, and chasing me were David and his teacher. David was in tears about the little kitten and his teacher had brought him out of the school building, abandoning the rest of the class, to see me. I can't resist my sobbing son's soft heart, so...

Kitten has been vet checked and brought home and is right now in our spare bathroom plotting what it can do to make my life more miserable.

Here he is:

5 weeks and dangerous!
