Amazing paddle

Darrell and I have just got back from the most amazing kayak trip. We left the kids at home with Daisy and took our new double kayak out onto the sea. It was a lovely clear still morning with no waves (always very hard to paddle against) and we drifted around the islands. We saw a flock of flamingo quite close up, although they took off when we got too close, a canadian goose perched on a rock in the middle of nowhere, herons and a strange large bird we couldn't identify. We saw rays swimming in the water beside the boat and a curious long silver fish which leapt out of the water and almost walked on the water, skimming the surface on it's tail. Amazing. There were shoals of tiny fish leaping out of the water and something rather bigger which we suspect (OK, wishful thinking this!) may have been a shy dolphin.
It was amazing. Darrell took photos but they may never be posted - I'm still waiting for him to download his photos of the hamster babies for me! I noticed I used the word amazing rather too often .... but it really was!
Happy weekend everyone.
