I am project managing a multimillion dollar project, under strict time constraints based on numerous governmental / local authority requirements. We have spent hundreds of manhours revising and updating drawings to accommodate the change. Furthermore the authority approval is a prerequisite from the Client and key factor to the successful completion of the project and in order to avoid any applied penalties from the Client. Yet we arrive at the authority office today and get turned away, not because of public holiday or too busy or even lunchtime but because the number issuing machine (to stand in the queue) was not working!!!
And we are expected to finish on time….I rest my case!
