My cat family is expanding rapidly. Last Friday we arrived home to find a kitten on our doorstep, asking for a place to stay. Hard heartedly, I rejected it, and the little thing lived outside our front door for two days, with constant attention from the kids. On Sunday, everyone callously trotted off to school and the kitten went searching for more action.
On Monday, Twitchett disappeared just before supper - very odd time to choose! So, from having 3 cats on the weekend, we were down to just one - a very lonely Tabitha, who wandered around the house miaowing for her sister.
On Wednesday, Sparkly (the kitten was named by the kids) reappeared and this time I let it into the house (after I had doused it with frontline - flea stuff). Half an hour later, a neighbour knocked on the door with Twitchett - so we were back up to 3!
Since which time, Twitchett has been missing for a night again, and Sparkly refuses to leave the house, practically only venturing outdoors for the necessary in the garden... We have asked around and no-one seems to know her owners, so our next step is to check if she's microchipped. The kids are really hoping that she isn't, as if we can't find the owners, I'll let them keep her...
