This is our short weekend - that is, Darrell only had Friday off, so Saturday he's back at work, and I'm supervising homework and gymnastics and wars....
Here we are having a go at some canoeing yesterday, a huge amount of fun - we are definitely going to get ourselves a couple of canoes.

After that, we went for lunch at the Al Ghazal Golf Course. This course has a very strange claim to fame - it is one HUGE bunker. The entire course is sand, the "greens" are "browns" and apparently you carry a little mat around with you to pop the ball onto. I wonder if they fill the bunkers with grass....

To recover from our lunch, we went ice-skating for the first time since being here. A pity we left it so long, as the rink is just 5 minutes from our villa. They provide frames (zimmer frames with skates!) for people who have difficulty with their balance, which was fantastic - Steph zooted around with minimal assistance from me. The boys managed really well, largely without frames, but Darrell could really have used one (refer picture!). As for me, it was a pleasure for once being better at a sport than my beloved hubby....
