Thursday was the day Jordynne hovered between the grown up and the child. After dropping the kids at school, we three ladies headed off to the Sharanis wellness spa (www.sharanisspa.com) where we were pampered for over an hour, getting pedicures. They make it complete experience, draping warm bean bags over your shoulders, turning the massage chair on, serving ginger tea (yuck!) - and that was on top of a super pedicure. And once the pedicure was completed, you would lean against the drying tables with your feet in a little machine that blows on the polish, while your attendant gave you a shoulder and neck massage….. Heaven.
Thence to buy something birthday presents for forthcoming kids parties and onto school, stopping only to drop Jeannette at the golf club where she could sit in comfort and drink coffee while Jordynne and I spent 1h15 sitting in the playground between the pickups.
Once we had all the kids we made a beeline for Sheikh Khalifa Park (not omitting to collect Jeannette) . We caught the little train around the perimeter of the park from the entrance to the museum. The museum was lovely, a little roller coaster ride past exhibits with a recorded voice explaining it all. I hope Jordynne learnt quite a lot - but I think she and the other kids just enjoyed the ride! You leave the museum by way of an aquarium - one very big tank; as usual, the kids were fascinated. What is it with kids and aquariums?
Then out to a playground, where the kids (and by now Jordynne was firmly back into her kid role) played themselves silly on a huge ship/jungle gym.
Home for pizzas and watching The Borrowers.
