Tale of 2 visitors Days 5 & 6

There was still a dust storm raging below us, but we had sun. It was a bit cooler due to the wind, but that's not always a bad thing! We started the morning with opening Darrells’ birthday presies (41!) followed by a buffet brekka. We went to work off our calories on the putt-putt course where we formed teams -The Dinosaurs; The Romans; The Blondes; and the Princess. The Dinosaurs won, with the Princess coming a close second.
Then down to the pools and waterslide for all of us except Darrell and Alex (they went to play squash). We underestimated the power of the sun at 3000ft and all ended up a bit burnt by the end of the day. Lovely relaxing day at the side of the pool (me) or splashing around (Steph) or racing down waterslides and doing lengths (Jordy and the boys).
When it started to get a little cool for water play even for Jordy, we headed to the indoor entertainment - table tennis, squash and a kiddies play area. Oh, there was a little shop for Jeannette to browse through.
A good nights sleep all round, and again the buffet brekka, followed by putt putt with a slight difference - the Princess was sulking so was scratched. And then back to the pools and slides.

Lunch was around the pool, looking down at the view from the top of the mountain (Shamal had largely cleared), more swimming - then we had to leave and make our way carefully back down the steep mountain road.

We got to Al Ain Zoo at about 4, and went for a look around and took in a bird show (nice, but not as good as the one at Monte Casino in Jhb). We had a quite surreal feeling when we saw this, last time was in very different surroundings, and it really seemed out of place in the desert!

Finished with a really healthy supper of hot corn (done with curry and lemon juice, very yummy) and chocolate, then headed back to AD, the end of our Jebel Hafeet weekend.
