Darrell called me on my hands-free in the car and I was trying to get the SAT Nav to behave itself – I like my map to have North at the top and not have the map rotate around my car, but the default setting seems to be for people who turn maps, not for those who can actually read them. Anyway, so I was trying to sort out my map and got very frustrated while telling D about the problems with it. He couldn’t offer a solution but suggested I try Alex, sitting beside me in the front seat. Alex had been trying to communicate with me for a while, but between Darrell and the SAT Nav I hadn’t been able to listen to what he was saying. So when I cut the connection to D and asked Alex to fix the SAT Nav, he patiently explained to me that you can’t change the SAT Nav while the phone is operating – this is to prevent you from dividing your attention and risking an accident.
He then fixed the SAT Nav for me and sat back to continue practicing his 7 times tables.... Well, at least I’m still better than he is at something!
