I was driving back from Lulu Hypermarket, having spent an entertaining hour trawling the isles with a wonky trolley, when in mine rear view mirror, a lot of flashing lights appeared. Not having a guilty conscience and not being in the fast lane, I had nothing to worry about, so I watched with interest as the lights came closer and were on half a dozen big red motorbikes. All the cars around me started moving into the slow lane, leaving the fast and middle lanes empty. So, although tempted to use the empty lanes, I followed suit and watched a cavalcade come screaming past me. First the above mentioned motorobikes. Then a huge white vehicle, then a loooong black vehicle, another huge white one, some more motorbikes.... Then as they went past car started moving back into the lanes. I could wish that I'd seen cars pulling over as promptly for emergency vehicles!
Anyway, the point is that I thought that I should describe it for all you unlucky people who don't live in the Middle East so that you would know what to do when the Queen or Zuma drive past. At that point I realised that I've been so overwhelmed by sick kids, housework and dust, dust and housework that although there have been plenty of moments I've wanted to capture - I haven't taken the time.
So, this housemaid is now on strike! Never again am I going to be deterred from writing in my blog because I can't find the keyboard under a layer of dust. I will merely dust a hole through to give me access and plough on. No more housework for me! So if anyone comes to visit me, best they bring dust masks.....
